What people say about Corralejo
Summary
Six public pages were read: a property-press feature (2020), two relocation guides, a remote-work guide, a German guide and an expat forum thread. Four of the 6 call Corralejo the island's liveliest town with its biggest international community, and three name the dunes and beaches as the draw.

Sources split on character: two say the old centre keeps village feel while the newer part is hotel- and holiday-flat-heavy, and one forum comment dislikes the town. Three put prices above the rest of the island, yet rent figures conflict (about 700 euros for a one-bedroom in one guide, 1,000-1,200 for two rooms in another). Two mention the windier north. Most sources are commercial; the forum thread is old.

- Mixed Built-up and commercialised versus village-like old town · 2
- Concern Higher prices than elsewhere on the island · 3

In Corralejo liegen Zweizimmerwohnungen 2026 bei etwa 1.000 bis 1.200 Euro im Monat.
Personally I would hate to live in Corralejo and if Fuerteventura was my only choice, I’d be heading down south among the German “expats” who usually embrace the Spanish / Canarian way of life faster and to a larger extent than the Brits.

The main resort, Corralejo - or “Corritalia”, as many Britons call it - is a former fishing village that has become rather built-up and commercialised over the past 50 years to capitalise on tourism. Yet it retains a warm, welcoming atmosphere with a more traditional feeling in its casco viejo (old town) area.
Corralejo has the highest real estate prices on the island, due to demand and amenities.
It’s certainly more British so you’d have a half decent support structure for when yuou first move over.
Corralejo in the north is the main hub for nomads and long-stay expats. It is a lively small town — not a village, but not a city either — with a good selection of restaurants, bars, surf and kite shops, supermarkets, and a large English-speaking community.
