What people say about Arguineguín
Summary
Six public pages were read, but four are commercial: two estate agencies, a relocation firm and a holiday-rental blog. All six describe Arguineguín as a calm, locally rooted fishing town, and three mention a Scandinavian, mainly Norwegian, community.

A relocation firm says housing is more affordable than in the big resorts, whereas a July 2026 Diario de Avisos feature says prices keep climbing as foreign buyers arrive. Sources give few drawbacks beyond small size, fewer tourist facilities than Maspalomas and a seasonal winter population. No resident forum material or rental-yield analysis was found.

From around the web
Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, Arguineguín and Puerto Rico have a significant expat presence, whereas Las Palmas and Teror have a more local feel.
Arguineguín was a fishing village long before Gran Canaria was a tourist destination and it still has a local feel even though thousands of foreigners own property in the area. Most people who live in town are Canarian and the town still has a local fishing industry.
Arguineguín representa la transformación de muchos pueblos costeros de Canarias: lugares con identidad marinera que, por su clima, su ubicación y su calidad de vida, se han convertido en enclaves exclusivos donde el precio de la vivienda no deja de escalar.

The Norwegians have especially taken the fishing village into their hearts, and the Norwegian population is quite large in the winter time as well as many expat Norwegians permanently residing there.
Tourism is not as popular in Arguineguin as in the larger places as Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles; however the fishing village is very popular with the Scandinavians and specially the Norwegians.
It’s also where you’ll find more affordable housing compared to major resorts...
Arguineguín has a year‑round Scandinavian community and good fish restaurants, Puerto Rico is practical with shopping and beaches, and Puerto de Mogán is photogenic around its old harbour.
Being a much smaller town than Maspalomas or the Playa del Inglés area, Arguineguín is much quieter.
